The Real Reason You Are Not Starting (And Why You Never Will If This Does Not Change)

The Illusion of Feeling Stuck

You know something is wrong.
You feel the tension.
This is not the life you wanted.
You are not where you thought you would be.

You admit it. You even talk about it.
You write it in your journal. You name it in conversations.

But still, you do not act.

It is like going to a psychologist and explaining exactly what is off, what hurts, and what to do next…

And then walking out and doing the same thing again.

Not because you do not know better.
But because you are still waiting. For something.

The truth is not that you are confused.
It is that you have built a life that waits for permission.

The Story You Keep Repeating

You tell yourself it is not the right time.
You tell yourself you need clarity first.
You say once you have more money, more knowledge, more certainty, then you will begin.

It sounds reasonable. Logical. Responsible.
But it is the most seductive trap you will ever meet.

You keep making your life conditional.

Once I feel ready…
Once I am sure…
Once the money comes in…
Once I finish this course…
Once I feel good enough…

Only then, I will start.

This is not strategy. This is self-protection.
You are postponing your life.
And you are calling it preparation.

The Pattern That Drains You (And Why It Feels So Familiar)

I know this loop because I lived in it.

There were moments I knew the truth.
Moments where I felt it all:
I am not doing good.
I am not where I want to be.
I am not enjoying life.

And yet… nothing changed.
Not because I lacked awareness but because I was addicted to postponing change.

“First I need clarity, then I can act.”
“First I need money, then I can feel worthy.”
“First I need to learn more, then I will be ready.”

I made everything conditional.
My freedom. My self-respect. My joy.
All of it was trapped behind a sequence of events that had to happen first.

But those events kept shifting.
And new conditions always appeared.

There was never a clear starting point.
Just a new version of “not yet.”

The Fear Behind the Excuses

This was not about money or knowledge.
It was not about clarity.

It was about control.

Because starting without guarantees means risking discomfort.
It means being seen. Being judged. Failing publicly.
It means admitting that maybe, despite all the talk, you are not ready to carry the thing you say you want.

So instead, you wait.
You stay in motion, but never in movement.

You watch others move forward and feel behind.
But you tell yourself, “They just started earlier,” or “They have more resources.”

You never ask the real question:

What if I am afraid to let go of the conditions because the conditions protect me from responsibility?

The Pattern That Needs to Break

Every time you say, “Once I have X, then I will do Y,”
you are building a reality that does not serve you.

You do not need to have it all figured out.
You do not need to be fully healed, fully funded, or fully confident.

You need to break the loop.

Look around:
The financial analyst who wants to retire early to live his dream ends up working 12 hours a day for decades.
The aspiring entrepreneur never starts because there is always more to learn.
The person chasing a certain income to feel good constantly compares and never arrives.

They all live in “later.”
And later never comes.

Conditions postpone your life.
They create a version of yourself that is always waiting.
Always about to begin. Never fully in it.

And here is the tragedy:
You might be preparing for a life you do not even want.

You will not know until you live it.
Until you drop the condition and take the first honest step.

The Choice You Refuse to Make

I stopped chasing perfect readiness.
I stopped bargaining with life.

Because I saw what it cost me.

My clarity did not come from more thinking.
It came from moving.
From deciding. From risking small discomfort instead of tolerating long-term dissatisfaction.

I began asking different questions:

  • What if I can feel fulfilled before I reach the outcome?
  • What if money does not make me worthy?
  • What if clarity is something I create through motion?

Fulfillment is not the end result of perfect conditions.
It is the fuel that comes when you stop betraying yourself.

And you stop betraying yourself when you act, even without guarantees.

The Reminder You Cannot Ignore

You keep saying “not now.”
But what if now is the only time you will ever have?

You do not need a perfect plan. Readiness is a myth.
You do not need better timing. The time is now.
You do not need to “be ready.” Conditions are endless.

You need to start from where you are, with what you know, before your life becomes a long list of things you meant to begin.

Your Next Step

Name the thing you say you want to start.
Not the polished version. The raw one. The one you think about when no one is watching.

Now ask:

  • What condition have I attached to this?
  • What am I waiting for before I allow myself to begin?

Now drop the condition.

Not next week. Not after this phase ends.
Now.

Let the act of beginning expose the lie of “not ready.”
Let discomfort become your teacher.

Because as long as you live by conditions,
you will never live at all.

Very Insightful and to the point! Theodore Roosevelt said “Comparison is the thief of Joy”.
Rationally it only makes sense to compare yourself to… yourself from the day/month/year before. As you said we all have different backgrounds (genes, upbringing, resources and karma to deal with).
Growth mindset = learning mindset. I believe we are all here (on earth) to learn. This mindset allows to celebrate both successes and failures as amazing growth opportunities..
